The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved the application of the Presidential Security Group (PSG) for the compassion use of 10,000 doses of coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccines from Chinese-state owned Sinopharm, Malacañang said Thursday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced on Thursday that the FDA has allowed the PSG to facilitate the inoculation of its members using the vaccines made by the China National Pharmaceutical Group.
“Nag-isyu ng compassionate use license ang ating FDA para sa 10,000 dosage ng Sinopharm. Ito ay sangayon sa application ng ating PSG,” Roque said in a virtual presser.
Asked how the vaccines will be procured, the spokesman told reporters: “Hindi ko na alam kung paano ipo-procure. The only thing i know is the application has been approved.”
It can be recalled that in December, PSG commander Brig. Gen. Jesus Durante III admitted that a number of PSG members received the Covid-19 vaccines in a bid to protect President Rodrigo Duterte.
