Vice President Leni Robredo has shrugged off the move of former senator Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s camp to seek clarification from the Supreme Court, sitting as the Presidential Electoral Tribunal (PET), on the dismissal of the poll protest he filed against her.
In an interview with GMA News Saturday (February 20), Robredo said it was clear that the Supreme Court unanimously dismissed Marcos’ electoral protest.
“Supreme Court na ang nagsabing tapos na. Sa akin naman, vindication. Vindication siya sa mahabang panahon na tiniis natin na sinisiraan tayo at nagfe-fake news sila. Ngayon, hindi na kami nagsabi na nagsisinungaling sila, Supreme Court na,” she said.
The Supreme Court has said that Marcos’ “entire electoral protest” was unanimously junked for lack of merit.
However, Marcos’ abogado, Vic Rodriguez, said a clarification was necessary on whether the Supreme Court only dismissed their petition for manual recount and judicial revision, or their move to annul the election results in three provinces in Mindanao was also junked.
