Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin on Tuesday revealed there’s another country that may possibly be another source of COVID-19 vaccines.
In a tweet, Locsin said the information came from Energy Secretary Alfonso Cusi and that the country has been “a good friend” to the Philippines.
“That country is a good friend. I got great news from its ambassador about a signal honor conferred on our country,” Locsin wrote.
However, the country’s top diplomat did not disclose further details of the possible vaccine deal.
The Philippines has started COVID-19 vaccination using China donated Sinovac vaccines. In the coming days, the AstraZeneca vaccine it purchased from the UK will be rolled out as well.
Just got a heads up from @energy Sec. Cusi on another possible source of available supply of vaccines. Everybody’s pitching in to help. Thanks, boss. Will ask today. That country is a good friend. I got great news from its ambassador about a signal honor conferred on our country.
