Malacañang said it was “saddened” by the latest World Happiness Report showing that Filipinos are less happy in 2020.
According to its 2021 report, the Philippines ranked 61st among 149 countries dropping nine spots from its 2019 ranking.
The country obtained an average score of 5.88 in terms of happiness.
“Nalulungkot tayo na naging mas kakaunti ang mga maligaya sa bansa natin ngayon, pero ito ay epekto ng pandemiya,” according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.
Roque said once the coronavirus vaccine will be available to everyone, people will become happier.
“Nandiyan naman po ang pag-asa natin sa pagdating ng mga bakuna. Inaasahan po natin na matapos mabakunahan ang lahat eh mas liligaya muli ang mga Pilipino,” he added.
