Former President Joseph Estrada’s condition has “steadily improved” as he continues to battle COVID-19, his son, ex-senator Jinggoy Estrada, said Friday (April 9).
In a statement, Jinggoy said his father “seems to be responding well to treatment.”
“Doctors are now starting to slowly wean him off ventilator support. His other organ functions remain stable,” the former senator said.
Estrada, 83, tested positive for COVID-19 on March 29. He was placed on a ventilator on April 6 as his pneumonia worsened.
Jinggoy asked for prayers for his father’s recovery and expressed hope that there will be no other medical complications.
