Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra said he is waiting for the green light of the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) before implementing rules on the arrest of persons who are not wearing or improperly wearing face masks.
“The DOJ is ready with guidelines on arrests and processing of health protocol violators,” Guevarra said.
“Just waiting for the DILG’s conformity or further comments,” he explained.
The DOJ drafted the guidelines upon the order of President Rodrigo Duterte.
Duterte earlier this month gave the directive after ordering police to arrest those who are not wearing or improperly wearing face masks.
