The National Task Force (NTF) Against Covid-19 is looking into reports of illicit sale of Covid-19 vaccines and vaccination priority slots in some local government units.
In a statement on Saturday, NTF reminded the public that all vaccines are free for all qualified citizens, and selling priority slots for Covid-19 vaccinations is “illegal and punishable by law.”
According to the Task Force, all the vaccines procured by the national government have only been given emergency use authorization, and are not for commercial distribution.
“For those who are engaged in the unauthorized sale of anti-COVID vaccines, we ask you to stop what you are doing. The long arm of the law will soon catch up on you,” it also said.
The NTF also assured the public that the people involved in this prohibited scheme will be penalized.
“Our vaccines are free and those who will commit fraud and illegal acts of selling and providing priorities and privileged access for financial gains will be investigated and punished.”
