Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte has picked former Defense Secretary Gilbert “Gibo” Teodoro to be her running mate in the 2022 elections, ex-Camarines Sur Rep. Rolando Andaya Jr. claimed Thursday (June 3).
In an interview on One News’ “Wag Po!,” Andaya expressed confidence that the Duterte-Teodoro tandem is set in stone even if there are other politikos wooing the presidential daughter. He said the rollout of the proverbial carpet for the former Defense chief during their visit to Davao City Thursday speaks volumes.
“Kung may tinabla man o hindi, siguro ang tanong diyan, in-offer ba kayo ng vaccine? E kami ho in-offer eh. Tatlong beses pa kaming pinakain. May pasalubong pa kami. Kumbaga sa siopao, bola-bola na kami, with egg pa,” Andaya said.
The former lawmaker, who accompanied Teodoro in his visit to Duterte, said the mayor reserved her entire schedule for the day to meet with the former Defense chief.
For Andaya, Teodoro’s receipt of a COVID-19 vaccine in Davao is the strongest proof that he and Duterte are running together.
“’Yung libreng bakuna sinasabi lang nun, ‘partner dapat malakas ka dahil marami pa tayong dadaanan. Mangangampanya pa tayo, ito babakunahan kita para safe ka,’” he said.
