Political kingmaker Luis “Chavit” Singson has joined the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC), a move seen to boost the party’s influence in the 2022 elections.
Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III on Saturday (June 19) shared photos of Singson’s oathtaking at the NPC clubhouse in Quezon City.
Sotto described Singson, currently the mayor of Narvacan, Ilocos Sur, as a “very strong political asset” to the party.
“He not only governs Ilocos Sur, he is presently the president of the Municipal Mayors League of the Philippines,” the Senate President said.
Singson was the governor of Ilocos Sur for several non-consecutive terms, starting from 1972.
