P9.02B risk allowance for Covid-19 health frontliners released

By Prince Golez

The Department of Budget and Management (DBM) has released the P9.02 billion budget for the special risk allowances (SRA) of public and private health workers.

The said funds cover the payment of SRA not exceeding P5,000 per month from December 20, 2020 to June 30, 2021, the DBM said in a statement on Sunday.

“With the funds now made available to the DOH (Department of Health), qualified public and private health workers can expect the payment of the SRA not later than June 30, 2021,” the agency said.

“The DBM is committed to fulfill its mandate of promoting the efficient and effective management of the national budget to support its budget priorities while also ensuring that the needs of the Filipino people are met, especially of healthcare workers in this time of pandemic,” it furthered.

President Rodrigo Duterte earlier signed Administrative Order 42, granting SRA of up to P5,000 to private and public health workers engaged in direct Covid-19 patient care.
