Para iwas peke! Roque proposes standardized Covid-19 vaccination certificates

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque is pushing for an international standard of Covid-19 vaccine certification to easily verify its authenticity.

Roque made the statement after the government drew flak over its new policy reducing to seven days the quarantine period for inbound travelers who were fully vaccinated in the Philippines.

“Ag problema po kasi, wala pa po tayong kasunduan sa buong daigdig kung paano natin mave-verify yung authenticity ng mga vaccination card sa buong daigdig,” the he said during the ceremonial vaccination rollout for economic frontliners Monday.

“Baka kinakailangan magkaroon ng isang international na kasunduan kung dapat magkaroon ng standard na vaccination certificate ng sa ganun hindi problema ang pag-authentic kung totoo o peke yung vaccination card,” he added.

Based on Resolution No. 119 issued by the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, only those with Covid-19 symptoms will undergo RT-PCR testing.

The resolution does not cover foreign nationals, overseas Filipino workers and Filipinos who have been fully vaccinated abroad.
