The Trade Union of the Philippines is appealing to employers to allow their workers to take a break from responding to work-related calls and emails once they are off duty.
Very silent, very quiet yung issue na ‘yan pero very dominant and very prevalent,” he added.
Tanjusay said working from home is not like working in an office where an employee can officially end the work day by signing out.
He said they’ve been in talks with employers and business owners to address this issue which is believed to be a cause of stress and burnout for workers.
He added that there is no law tackling this matter which is why labor officials from the government can only go as far as coming up with temporary remedies like issuing “guidelines” for employers to follow.
“Ang kinakailangan talaga natin ngayon ay isang batas, at ikalawa i-recognize ng mga employers ang karapatan na ito,” he said.
