Sen. Panfilo Lacson on Monday congratulated Filipino-Japanese golfer Yuka Saso for winning the 76th US Women’s Open golf championship.
Lacson said the 19-year-old Yuka, who made history with her feat, brought honor to the Philippines and made Filipinos proud.
“Big time congrats to our very own Yuka Saso for winning the 76th US Women’s Open golf championship. Proud to be Filipino!” he said on his Twitter account.
Yuka, whose mother is FIlipina, made history by becoming the first Filipino to win the US major.
She is also tied for being the youngest US Women’s Open champion with South Korea’s Inbee Park.
