The national government has allowed interzonal movement of fully-vaccinated individuals, Malacañang said Sunday.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said travelers just need to present their Covid-19 domestic vaccination card or Bureau of Quarantine-issued quarantine certificate indicating his/her vaccine status upon arrival at the local government unit of destination.
The vaccination card or certificate of quarantine completion will be “sufficient” alternatives to any testing requirement, he added.
Roque said this interzonal travel also applies to fully vaccinated senior citizens, who were earlier allowed outdoors in areas under general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified GCQ.
“The traveler needs to undergo health and exposure screening upon arrival in the local government of destination,” the official also said.
Interzonal movement refers to the movement of people, goods and services across areas under different community quarantine classifications.
Meanwhile, fully vaccinated individuals who are close contacts of probable and confirmed Covid-19 cases may undergo a shortened seven-day quarantine period if they remain asymptomatic for the duration of isolation.
When there is a need for RT-PCR testing, Roque said it may be done not earlier than the fifth day after the date of the last exposure.
“No testing and quarantine shall be required for close contacts who may have been traced beyond the 7th day from the last exposure and who remained asymptomatic,” he also said.
“Prescribed testing and isolation protocols shall be followed once the RT-PCR test yields a positive result, or the individual becomes symptomatic.”
