Gov’t to review Covid-19 quarantine classifications every 15 days

By Prince Golez

Amid growing concern about a more contagious variant of Covid-19, quarantine classifications in the Philippines will now be reviewed every 15 days, Malacañang said Tuesday.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases has informed President Rodrigo Duterte that new quarantine classifications should be announced every two weeks.

“Nung huling Talk to the People, sinabihan na po ng IATF ang presidente na ang ating classification will now be every 15 days,” Roque said during his televised briefing held in Subic.

“We need to be able to move quickly kapag talagang sumipa po ang kaso ng delta variants kasi ganyan po yung anyo ng delta biglang na lang sumisipa,” he added.

The IATF previously gave updates on quarantine classifications of areas on a monthly basis.
