Iloilo, 3 other areas now under ECQ until July 31

The government’s Covid-19 task force has raised the quarantine classification imposed on Iloilo province, Iloilo City, and Cagayan de Oro from modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) to ECQ effective immediately until July 31.

“The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) escalated the community quarantine classification of Iloilo Province and Iloilo City from MECQ until July 22, 2021 to ECQ until July 31, 2021,” Malacañang announced Friday.

The Gingoog City in Misamis Oriental is also placed under ECQ until the end of the month, according to Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Roque said the IATF also extended the general community quarantine (GCQ) with “heightened restrictions” classification of Antique from July 22 to July 31.

Misamis Oriental, which was under modified GGQ until July 31, 2021, has been reverted to GCQ with “heightened restrictions” until end-July.

“The reclassification was made upon the recommendations of the Department of Health, its Technical Advisory Group, and the Technical Working Group on Covid-19 Variants,” the secretary added.
