It is no longer a surprise to the leader of Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) that the National Capital Region will shift again to the strict Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ).
Bayan leader Renato Reyes said this is no longer surprising considering the government’s failed pandemic response, he said during Abante’s Balitaan at Kumustahan on Tuesday.
“Kulang yung testing, mabagal ang sequencing, mahina ang contact tracing, hindi na lumawak yung kapasidad ng mga hospital at napakabagal ng rollout ng bakuna,” he said.
“Nasa 8.3% palang ng populasyon ang nabakunahan. Pag ganyan ang pandemic response mo, pag tinamaan tayo ng matinding surge ay talagang mangangatog yung ating healthcare system,” he said.
Due to this, Reyes mentioned that the country will indeed suffer so the government would again resort to imposing another lockdown.
He went on to further question the government if it has thought of any other solution than putting the entire NCR under a strict lockdown once more.
“Ito na lang ba lagi ang kakaharapin natin at pahihirapan natin ang publiko pero wala namang kaukulang pagbuti o pagsasaayos ng ating pandemic response?” he asked.
