Amid rising Covid-19 cases, the national government has placed the province of Bataan under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) until August 22.
Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque announced that President Rodrigo Duterte upgraded Bataan’s quarantine classification to ECQ from August 8 to 15.
“President Rodrigo Roa Duterte approved the recommendation of the Inter-Agency Task Force to place Bataan under enhanced community quarantine beginning Aug. 8 until Aug. 22, 2021,” Roque said in a statement Saturday.
The province was initially placed under modified ECQ until August 15.
As of August 6, Bataan has a total of 14,643 total confirmed infections, with 1,974 active cases and 543 deaths.
