Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., chief implementer of the National Task Force (NTF) against Covid-19, offered sympathies over the death of “season journalist” Melo Acuña, who passed away Friday due to COVID-related complications.
In a press statement, Galvez recalled Acuña covering and writing extensively about the comprehensive Philippine peace process and using the power of technology to interview people involved in the country’s pandemic response efforts.
“His questions were always well-framed and thoroughly researched, which helped provide clarity and substance to the discussions,” the presidential peace adviser said.
With Acuña’s passing, Galvez said the Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process and the NTF against Covid-19 has lost an invaluable partner.
“You will always be remembered, Mr. Acuña. May you find peace with our Creator,” he concluded.
