Pangasinan solon backs House probe on OCTA Research Group

Pangasinan Fourth District Representative Christopher de Venecia is amenable to the planned investigation of the OCTA Research group being pushed by members of the House of Representatives.

In an interview on Abante’s Balitaan at Kumustahan, he mentioned that he found it reasonable that it makes sense to investigate the methodologies and processes of the organization as they provide the basis for the policies set by IATF, which in turn affects all Filipinos.

“I think naman as we are now in an ECQ diba, syempre may mga patakaran na kailangang sundin ng ating mga stakeholders, yung mga negosyo, yung mga trabahante, at marami pang iba,” de Venecia explained.

He reiterated that if the OCTA has a “say” in the policies to be crafted by the IATF, he believes that it is necessary to have a form of transparency to know the kind of methodology they employ and how they generate their data.

He also backed representatives Bernadette Herrera, Kristine Singson-Meehan, Sharon Garin, Stella Quimbo, and Jesus Suntay whom he said were trustworthy members of the congress.

Herrera, Garin, Quimbo, Singson-Meehan and Suntay were the ones who filed House Resolution No. 2075, calling for a House investigation on OCTA’s “qualifications, research methodologies, partnerships, and composition.”
