The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has been directed on Tuesday (Sept. 21) to investigate the death of Filipino artist Bree Jonson, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said.

“We have likewise directed the NBI to assist the PNP (Philippine National Police) in conducting the investigation or to do a parallel probe, as may be needed,” he said.
Jonson was found unconscious by police last Saturday (Sept. 18) inside a hostel in San Juan, La Union where she and Julian Ongpin, the son of businessman Roberto Ongpin, have been occupying.
She was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.
Meanwhile, Julian is facing a drug complaint that the PNP filed before the La Union Provincial Prosecutor’s Office after cocaine was found inside the hostel.
