Department of Justice (DOJ) Secretary Menardo Guevarra on Tuesday (Sept. 21) said he will place in the immigration watchllist Julian Ongpin, the son of business tycoon Roberto Ongpin.
Guevarra explained he has already received a request from Salome Jonson, the mother of late Filipino artist Bree Jonson, to have Julian placed in the immigration watchlist.
“The DOJ will issue an immigration lookout bulletin order (ILBO) against Mr. Ongpin,” the secretary said.
“The DOJ may further consider asking the court for the issuance of a precautionary hold-departure order depending on the progress of the preliminary investigation,” he added.
Julian was arrested by police last Saturday (Sept. 18) at a hostel in San Juan, La Union after he was found in possession of cocaine.
Bree was also found unconscious in the hostel and was rushed to the hospital but was declared dead.
