Senate President Vicente “Tito” Sotto III isn’t buying the claim of Pharmally director Linconn Ong that he’s receiving death threats for testifying in the Senate probe involving the company.
At the continuation of the Senate blue ribbon committee’s hearing Monday (Sept. 13) on the P10-billion worth of contracts won by Pharmally from the government, Ong said he got text messages forcing him to admit his supposed ties to the “chief executive”—presumably referring to President Rodrigo Duterte.
Ong claimed that he and his family would be killed unless he owned up to his supposed connections.
Reacting to Ong’s claim, Sotto tweeted: “Ngayon lang ako nakarinig ng death threat pag hindi nagsinungaling! Usually para hwag magsabi ng totoo. Stupid ha!”
“If he does not lie they will kill him, if he lies…. Ano daw? Stupid threat!” the Senate President added.
