Duterte admits he’s a ‘cheap probinsyano’: Pero ikaw Dick, yumaman dahil sa kurakot!

President Rodrigo Duterte agreed with Senator Dick Gordon’s put down but he vowed to bring the Philippine Red Cross chairman down for his alleged corruption.

“I am a cheap politician, you are correct. I am a probinsyano, you are correct. Pero our mission here by joining government is to go after politicians like you who have enriched themselves milking government of its resources,” said Duterte .

Duterte was reacting to Gordon’s previous insults made during a Senate hearing on alleged overpriced medical supply acquired by the government during the pandemic.

“You’re a cheap politician, Mr. President, as cheap as they come. It’s hard to support you because you don’t act like a president I didn’t vote for you, Mr. President. Today, I tell you, you are not the president the Filipino people can respect,” said Gordon after Duterte called him a “despot.”

Duterte has accused Gordon of enriching himself first as head of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority and later as PRC head. Duterte also claimed that Gordon’s efforts to style himself as a graft-buster was a farce.

“Kunwari sa panahon na ito ikaw ‘yung graft-buster, ikaw ‘yung naghahanap ng katiwalian sa gobyerno. Well, tignan natin, in the following pages I will tell you why you are a farce. Is the ongoing inquiry truly in aid of legislation or is it for political purposes?” said Duterte.

“Sige ka habol ng tao na corrupt. Paano ka namin hahabulin ngayon? Eh corrupt ka rin eh,” said Duterte on Gordon’s refusal to have PRC’s books opened to scrutiny by the Commission on Audit.
