President Rodrigo Duterte is claiming Senator Dick Gordon also dealt with pork barrel queen Janet Lim Napoles to allegedly hide P88 million of Priority Development Assistance Fund (PDAF) according to members of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) themselves.
“Gusto kong malaman na tumanggap ka ba ng P88 million sa PDAF mo? Ito kung totoo lang, idinikit mo sa PDAF, pinarking mo doon ‘yung ano mo PDAF mo. So you commingled it with the money of of the Red Cross and of Congress ‘yung nakuha mo. Ngayon, the money is lost forever. It cannot be accounted for…if this is true, kung totoo itong pinarking mo talaga,” said Duterte in a Monday briefing.
Napoles was the alleged mastermind of the P10 billion pork barrel scam in which she connived with senators and representatives to divert their PDAF or pork-barrel funds to her bogus nongovernment organizations.
Duterte claimed that he got the information that Gordon allegedly hid his money in the PRX from insiders in the humanitarian organization itself. This is why he has ordered Solicitor General Jose Calida to compel the Commission on Audit to open the books of PRC.
“Ang nagsasabi nga niyan mga taga-Red Cross. Itinawag lang sa akin sa cellphone, masama pa ang linya na mayroon kang nakuha, isinali mo doon sa pera ng Red Cross, which means to say now that hindi na ma-audit ng COA kasi ang COA sabi mo hindi puwedeng mag-audit sa Red Cross,” said Gordon.
“Kung hindi totoo, patawarin na po. Pero kung totoo ito, you must answer it because I am really going to insist that COA conduct an audit sa Red Cross. You cannot escape that constitutional mandate,” he added.
Duterte said he was just giving Gordon a does of his own medicine. “Alam mo, Dick, madali masyadong — it’s easy to accuse, it’s easy to accuse somebody, government, just for mileage. Kilala kita eh,” Duterte said.
