Duterte ’sorry’ if Covid-19 efforts not good enough: ‘Iyan lang talaga ang kaya ko’

President Rodrigo Duterte said he was sorry that his efforts against Covid-19 pandemic were still not enough for some.

“Kung sabihin ninyo ako ang nagkulang? Eh sorry. Ginawa ko ang lahat ko. Kung ang lahat kulang pa, eh ‘di patawad po. Iyan lang talaga ang kaya ko,” Duterte said during his taped “Talk to the People” address that aired early Wednesday.

The Chief Executive issued the statement after he criticized the Senate blue ribbon panel for investigating the government contracts for the procurement of alleged overpriced medical supplies.

The congressional probe, according to him, is just a form of politicking.

“Ako lang mayor, sila mga senador. Pabalik nang pabalik nang pabalik nang pabalik ‘yan sila. Tanungin ko kayo. May nakita ba kayo na magandang batas na nakatulong sa bansa? Tanungin ko lang kayo,” said Duterte.

“Itong mga senador, hindi mo ba nakita sila lang? Kasi kayo magboto ang nasa isip lang kasi ninyo… Kung ikaw ay gusto ng pagbabago o ayaw mo na sa kanila, all you have to do is to get hold of that sample ballot and write it down,” he added.
