President Rodrigo Duterte slammed the Philippine Red Cross and its chairman, Senator Dick Gordon for charging Filipinos in need of blood.

“Mahilig kayo mag pa-blood letting. Isang batalyon na pulis, isang batalyon na Army, tapos ang mga tao diyan, kailangan bumili. Ang mahirap diyan o mayaman gusto ng dugo sa Red Cross nagbabayad,” Duterte said in his taped public address aired on Thursday.

“Ang purpose ng magpa-blood letting ka, magbigay ka ng tulong sa kapwa mo Pilipino, and yet when somebody is sick who wants blood [papabayarin,” he added.

In jest, Duterte also said he will ask Dracula, a legendary vampire created by Bram Stoker in his 1987 novel, to drain Gordon of blood.

“Kung makausap ko si Dracula, ipakagat kita na natutulog. Kunin lahat ng dugo mo. Marami kang dugo. Ang katawan mo bilog na bilog, puro dugo yan,” he said.
