Is Duterte’s VP bid final?

Malacañang urged the public to just wait for the official filing of certificates of candidacy and the deadline of substitution of candidates to find out if President Rodrigo Duterte will pursue the vice presidency.

The Commission on Elections has set the filing of candidacies from October 1 to 8, and the last day for the replacement of an official candidate on November 15.

“Well, tingnan po natin kung ano ang mangyayari sa October 8 at saka sa November 15, kung hindi po ako nagkakamali, iyon po iyong last day for substitution,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Thursday.

Meanwhile, Roque confirmed that Duterte has signed the ruling PDP-Laban party’s certificate of nomination and acceptance.

“I can only confirm that I saw the release of PDP-Laban that the President had indeed signed his certificate of [nomination] for vice president,” he added.
