Malacañang seemed not to mind the decision of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno to run for the country’s highest post in 2022.
In a virtual presser Thursday, Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque cited Moreno’s right to run for president next year.
“Talaga namang karapatan ng lahat ng Pilipino na tumakbo sa eleksiyon – karapatan nilang bumoto at iboto,” according to Roque.
“Karapatan ng lahat ng Pilipinong bumoto at iboto,” he reiterated.
On Wednesday, Moreno, a former actor, formally announced his bid for the presidency in the 2022 national elections. Dr. Willie Ong will be his running mate.
