‘Karma is a beeyatch’: Duterte now wants Senate respect after being rude to critics for years — Lacierda

President Duterte is supposedly getting a dose of karma.

According to former Presidential Spokesman Edwin Lacierde, the foul-mouthed Duterte is now demanding respect from senators probing the government’s alleged mishandling of pandemic funds despite his rude behavior towards others.

The Duterte government is under fire for its alleged irregular purchase of medical supplies, particularly its supposed partiality towards the Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. that bagged the contracts. The company has been linked to Duterte’s former economic adviser Michael Yang.

“The Pharmally scam Senate hearing is hurting his brand he has called for R-E-S-P-E-C-T,” Lacierda tweeted on Sept. 23, 2021.

“5 year in power gave him hubris to disrespect critics & now, a Senate Blue Ribbon, a Gordon, Drilon, Lacson who wont do his bidding now cries uncle. Karma is a beeyatch. What goes around,” he said.

Duterte has been outraged by the Senate blue ribbon committee inquiry into the alleged overpriced medical supplies, saying there was no corruption in the deal. He went as far as throwing personal attacks and insulting some senators critical of his government.

Recently Duterte banned Cabinet members from appearing in congressional inquiries without his consent, saying he will not allow his officials to be berated or harassed by the senators. Duterte complained that senators probing Pharmally were using such inquiry to advance their political plans in the 2022 elections.
