Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque had this to say following the declaration of former senator Antonio Trillanes IV that he will run for the country’s top post if Vice President Leni Robredo doesn’t run in 2022.
“Gawin niya ang gusto niya. Karapatan naman niya tumakbo. Good luck,” Roque said during his televised briefing Monday.
In a Twitter post Sunday, Trillanes said he would push through his presidential bid should Robredo fail to file her candidacy by 12 noon of October 8.
“Tuloy ang pag tulak natin kay VP Leni to run for President. Kung tumuloy siya, ipanalo natin siya,” the ex-solon who ran for vice president but lost to Robredo in 2016 wrote.
“Pero kung di pa rin siya makapagdesisyon by 12nn of Oct 8, tuloy na po ako ng pagka presidente. Di po natin hahayaang matalo ang TUNAY na OPOSISYON ng di man lang lumaban,” he added.
