‘PH in worst situation’: Leachon tells Galvez to improve COVID response than waste time attacking well-meaning citizens

Why is the government picking on citizens trying to help in the pandemic response?

Health reform advocate Dr. Tony Leachon is baffled by vaccine czar Carlito Galvez’s personal attacks against him just because he called for a better action plan to contain the COVID-19 outbreak.

Leachon, former adviser of the government’s national task force in charge of fighting the pandemic, earlier sought the removal of Health Secretary Francisco Duque III over alleged failed leadership in addressing the health emergency. He also appealed to the government to step up testing, tracing and vaccination to fight the virus spread.

Galvez however found Leachon’s criticisms annoying. The former military chief claimed that Leachon was not a vaccine expert and merely aspires to become the next health secretary.

But Leachon reminded the government officials to get their act together and focus on addressing the health emergency. He is worried the country is now “in the worst situation” after cases of COVID-19 have soared past 2 million this week.

“Our leaders in DOH/NTF should focus on the issues and must have the sense of urgency in addressing this pandemic,” Leachon tweeted on September 1, 2021.

“Concocting personal attacks against well-meaning citizens is a waste of time. We are in the worst situation in the Covid response. God bless our country,” he said.
