Malacañang on Friday assured that Filipino gymnast Carlos Yulo will receive additional cash incentives from President Rodrigo Duterte.
Yulo earlier won gold and silver medals in the 2021 Artistic Gymnastics World Championships held in Kitakyushu, Japan.
On Tuesday, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Board said it has approved the granting of a P750,000 cash gift for Yulo for his double-medal win.
“Siyempre po meron. Ang alam ko, ang manggagaling sa PSC, meron na siyang assured na 750,000. Pero pagpupulungan pa po sa Office of the Executive Secretary kung magkano talaga ang karagdagang incentive na ibibigay ng presidente,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser.
“Kung matatandaan ninyo, ‘yung mga nagwawagi sa mga international events na ganyan, meron pa pong karagdagang pabuya na binibigay ang Office of the President. Congratulations ulit po kay Carlos Yulo,” he added.
