Duterte to join virtual ASEAN Summit from Oct. 26 to 28

President Rodrigo Duterte will virtually attend the ASEAN Summit from October 26 to 28, Malacañang said Monday.

“Dadalo ang ating presidente via Zoom or computer hookup from October 26 to 28,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said during a televised briefing.

“As usual, regular naman po itong mga ASEAN Summit. Uunahin ang ASEAN Summit, tapos magkakaroon ng ASEAN-Korea, ASEAN-China, ASEAN-US, ASEAN-japan, ASEAN-Australia, ASEAN Plus Three, East Asia Summit, ASEAN-India, ASEAN-Russia tapos yung closing ceremony,” he added.

When asked about the initiatives and new cooperation agreements that Duterte will be pushing during the summit meetings, Roque said he was not privy to the details.

“Naku hindi ko po alam ang detalye ‘no. I only have the schedule for now. Pero in the coming days, titignan natin kung ano yung magiging declarations ng ating Pangulo,” according to him.
