The 29-year-old son of bilyonaryo Bobby Ongpin, Julian, won’t be able to flee the country amid the drug charges he is facing, the Department of Justice (DOJ) said Tuesday (Oct. 19).
Assistant State Prosecutor honey Rose E. Delgado, spokesperson of the DOJ’s Office of the Prosecutor General (OPG), said the precautionary hold departure order issued against Ongpin is valid until lifted by the court.
The DOJ filed Tuesday charges of possession of illegal drugs against Ongpin after 12.6 grams of cocaine was found in the room he shared with artist Bree Jonson at the Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel in La Union last month.
Ongpin is also a person of interest in the death of Jonson, who was found unconscious at the hostel on September 18.
The regional trial court branch in La Union that will handle the case has yet to be determined.
