President Rodrigo Duterte on Tuesday said no government worker should be credited for the rehabilitation of war-torn Marawi City.
“We do not claim any credit from this. To rebuild Marawi is a government commitment at trabahante lang kami. ’Yung nagpasalamat sa akin okay na rin, pero hindi na kailangan kasi trabaho ko ‘yan,” Duterte said in his taped public address.
Last Saturday, the Chief Executive led the commemoration of the 4th anniversary of the liberation of Marawi City in Lanao del Sur.
During the event, Duterte witnessed the distribution of Certificates of Title for permanent housing units from the National Housing Authority and turnover of financial assistance from the Cooperative Development Authority.
He likewise inspected the newly constructed Jameo Mindanao Al-Islamie, considered the biggest house of worship in Marawi that was destroyed during the 2017 siege.
