Kanino tumaya? Roxas denies giving space to Isko’s campaign but mum on Robredo’s run

Former Interior Secretary Mar Roxas has denied that the campaign team of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno is holding office at the family-owned Araneta Center in Cubao, Quezon City.

Roxas said Monday (October 11) that there are no campaign headquarters of any presidential candidate in Araneta Center.

“The LP which occupied space across Farmer’s Market moved out shortly after 2016,” Roxas said in a statement sent by his team.

“I am focusing on my family, have retired from politics, and my Araneta family were engaged only because they were supporting me,” he added.

A blog post by investment banker and blogger Leo Alejandrino claimed that one half of the Liberal Party—particularly those loyal to Roxas—have sided with Moreno.

The location of Moreno’s campaign headquarters at the Araneta Center supposedly shows Roxas’ support for the mayor’s presidential bid.

Roxas ran for president in 2016 but lost. He also campaigned for a Senate seat in 2019.

Despite Roxas’ denial about helping Moreno’s campaign, he’s conspicuously silent about the presidential bid of Vice President Leni Robredo, who is LP’s chairperson.
