Former House Speaker Alan Peter Cayetano turns 51 on October 28, and his brother Lino has posted a tribute to his kuya online.

Mayor Lino Cayetano of Taguig City sent his birthday wishes to his brother in a latest Facebook post. He particularly highlighted his brother’s lengthy public service and how the country needs him now more than ever.

Cayetano, currently serving as representative of Taguig’s 1st District, is eyeing a Senate comeback in the 2022 elections. He will run as an independent senatorial candidate.

“Sa maraming taon ng serbisyo sa gobyerno ni Kuya Alan, marami na siyang nagawa at patuloy na ginagawa para sa Taguig at ating bansa,” Mayor Lino said on Facebook.

“Happy birthday, Kuya Alan Peter Cayetano! Salamat sa iyong mga advice at paggabay sa amin. Stay safe, strong, and healthy! Sa ganitong panahon ay mas kailangan ng bansa ang iyong liderato. Keep fighting for Taguigeños and the Filipino people. May God continue to bless you! ” he said.

In 2017, President Duterte recruited Cayetano from the Senate and appointed him as secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs. He ran as vice president of Duterte in the 2016 elections but lost.
