Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque has not made up his mind regarding his possible run for senator next year.
In a virtual presser Tuesday, Roque said he is still waiting for Davao City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio to change her mind about not running for the country’s top post in the 2022 national elections.
‘Yan po ay pinakaimportanteng konsiderasyon,” according to him.
Roque also lamented the cost of running for public office.
“Hindi ako anak mayaman, hindi ako anak pulitiko. So, yan ang bagay-bagay na kinokonsidera natin,” he also said.
Last Friday, the People’s Reform Party announced that Roque would be part of its senatorial slate for next year’s elections.
The party founded by the late senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago, however, did not say who the secretary would replace.
