Successful! Duterte lauds pilot run of Covid-19 vaccinations for minors

President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday commended the pilot rollout of pediatric vaccination.

Duterte said the initial run of the vaccination among children aged 12 to 17 years was a success.

“The first phase of our vaccination of minors aged 12 to 17 launched in NCR (National Capital Region) last October 15 was successful,” the Chief Executive said during his regular “Talk to the People” address.

“So binabakunahan na ‘yung mga bata. On Friday, October 22, we launched Phase 2 of our pediatric vaccinations with more hospitals participating in various LGUs (local government units) in the NCR,” he added.

Citing data from the Department of Health, Duterte said more than 9,900 pediatric vaccinations in 26 hospitals have been recorded, as of October 24.

“Around 144,000 minors are targeted for inoculation under the two-phase pediatric vaccination pilot in Metro Manila with priority to those with comorbidities,” according to him.
