President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Jose Midas Pascual Marquez as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court (SC).
This was confirmed by Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea in a message to reporters Tuesday.
“The Executive Secretary confirms the appointment of Mr. Jose Midas Pascual Marquez as Associate Justice of the Supreme Court,” the statement read.
Marquez will replace Justice Edgardo Delos Santos, who retired on June 30.
The new SC justice served as spokesman under former Chief Justice Renato Corona.
