Duterte blasts Sal Panelo’s fashion sense: ‘He’s a sartorial incongruity’

President Rodrigo Duterte believes that his former chief lawyer Salvador Panelo should be elected to the Senate, citing his legal expertise.

Panelo is running for senator in the 2022 polls under the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan.

“Hindi ako nagkakampanya. I’m not saying that vote for this and… Ito sila sinabi ko lang kasi kasama ko. Kung pag-usapan lang ninyo batas, Chief Legal Counsel nga eh, marunong talaga ito,” Duterte said during his speech held in General Santos City Monday.

“Manghinayang ako kung he will also retire na ano. Marunong ito basta sa batas,” he added.

But, there’s one thing the President and Panelo can’t agree on: clothing.

“Kaya lang minsan iyong he is a sartorial incongruity kasi minsan iyong mga ano niya mga horrendous. Iyong mga Louis Vuitton na may butas iyong pantalon,” Duterte said ,drawing laughter from the crowd.

“Well, ganoon talaga siya. He dressed up like that. It’s his happiness actually. He has sons and grandchildren,” he also said.
