President Rodrigo Duterte has yet to decide on calls for him to run for senator in the 2022 national elections, his spokesman said.
“As far as I know, wala pa pong pinal na desisyon,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Friday.
On Tuesday, Senator Bong Go, Duterte’s long-time aide, said Duterte is “considering” and “studying” the possibility of joining the Senate race next year.
The ruling PDP-Laban has urged the President, whose term ends in June, to run for senator in 2022.
Duterte earlier withdrew his nomination as PDP-Laban’s vice presidential candidate.
