Atty. Harry Roque will push for legalization of same-sex marriage if elected to the Senate in 2022.
In an interview with ANC’s Headstart Monday, Roque said that marriage is a personal choice.
“I will support same-sex marriage because I think the decision on who you want to marry is a personal decision which could not be limited by the State,” the former spokesperson of President Rodrigo Duterte said.
When asked if he will support the passage of the anti-discrimination law, Roque said: “I was co-author of that in the 17th Congress.”
Once signed into law, the SOGIE Equality Bill aims to protect the rights of all persons against abuse or discrimination based on their sexual orientation, gender identity and expression.
