The National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has hit a snag in the investigation of the death of Filipina painter Bree Jonson, Justice Secretary Menardo Guevarra said on Saturday (Dec. 4).
“The NBI investigation has been stalled,” he said.
The secretary cited the NBI investigators still have “a pending application for search warrant to secure forensic evidence (the judge is on extended leave).”
“They are also waiting for the PNP (Philippine National Police) response to their requests for clarification on the PNP’s DNA report.
Jonson was declared at a hospital in San Juan, La Union last Sept. 18 after being found unconscious at a resort.
Julian Ongpin, the son of billionaire Roberto Ongpin, has become a person of interest in the case since he was staying with Jonson at the resort.
