President Rodrigo Duterte is confident that Health Secretary Francisco Duque III will be able to answer the allegations of irregularities in relation to his agency’s response to the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic, his spokesman said.
“Kampante ang Presidente na masasagot ni Secretary Duque ang lahat pong alegasyon sa Ombudsman,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a virtual presser Thursday.
Yesterday, the Office of the Ombudsman ordered an investigation on Duque and other Department of Health (DOH) officials due to alleged irregularities and anomalies in the Covid-19 response.
Roque added that Duterte still fully supports the DOH chief despite all the controversies hounding his department.
“The President has time and again expressed his continuing trust and confidence kay Secretary Duque,” he added.
