Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro “Teddyboy” Locsin Jr. is rallying behind the country’s health workers who have called for a strict lockdown in Metro Manila.
Locsin said it was time to listen to these warriors in the battle against the coronavirus pandemic.
“We should listen to them because they are in the frontlines; rest of us including tiny opposition are just talking—let’s hope with masks and face shields on so as not to spread the virus of self-important ignorance,” he tweeted.
“Comes a time when you listen to the warriors in the field,” he said.
Doctors and nurses across the country have asked President Duterte to bring Metro Manila back to enhanced community quarantine to stem the spread of the contagious disease. The latest appeal was made after the country’s cases of infections soared close to 100,000.
