President Rodrigo Duterte paid a visit to the tomb of his father Vicente Duterte during the latter’s birthday Monday.
In photos provided by the Malacañang Presidential Photographers Division, Duterte was shown lighting candles for his departed.
The President’s father was a lawyer and former governor of the then unified province of Davao while his mother, Soledad, was a teacher and civic leader.
Duterte was accompanied by his former longtime aide, Senator Christopher Go during the visit.
