Presidential Communications Operation Office (PCOO) Secretary Martin Andanar has dismissed talks of a potential run in next year’s elections.
In a radio interview in Dapitan City, Andanar said he’s currently focused on “serving the public” and “delivering the commitment of President Rodrigo Duterte.”
It can be recalled that the secretary ranked 18th in an online survey conducted by WR Numero Research from November 2 to 7, 2020.
Before joining the Duterte Cabinet, Andanar was the head of News5 Everywhere, the online news video and audio portal of TV5 network.
Last week, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) released a resolution setting the period of the filing of the certification of candidacies for all elective positions on October 1 to 8, 2021.
Under Comelec Resolution 10695, the campaign period for candidates in national positions commences on February 8, 2022 until May 7, 2022, while campaigning for local posts begins on March 25, 2022 until May 7, 2022.
