An intensified curfew from 6 p.m. to 5 a.m. will be implemented in the National Capitol Region and the provinces of Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna and Rizal will be implemented during the enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) period starting tomorrow, Monday.
Malacañang yesterday announced that President Rodrigo Duterte placed Metro Manila and its four adjacent provinces under ECQ until April 4 to address the rise in coronavirus cases.
“Mas pinaigting din po ang oras ng curfew sa Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, Rizal at NCR. Ang ating curfew po ay mula 6:00 p.m. hanggang 5:00 a.m.,” Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said in a televised briefing.
Exempted from the curfew are Authorized Persons Outside of Residence, frontline workers, cargo vehicles and public transportation. They may present proper identification and they will not be apprehended.
People living in ECQ areas are required to observe strict home quarantine.
As of March 27, the Philippines recorded 118,122 active cases of Covid-19. A total of 13,159 people have died since the pandemic began last year.
